The original story is from a novel and there are a few more stories to the novel(but the anime only covered two). This bond is faced the ultimate test in the second part of this anime when Guren is overcome by a curse and Masahiro has to make the most difficult decision of all. yes, there's a princess in this story and there's some light romance between the princess and Masahiro but actually the bond between Masahiro and Guren feels much deeper.
Through their adventures, a strong bond forms Masahiro and Guren(his alternate form, Mokkun, a white mononoke with rabbit ears, is absolutely adorable~). Somehow it reminds me of Inu Yasha(but actually, when I think about it, the story is completely different!). The main character in this story is Masahiro, the grandson of the legendary priest Abe no Seimei, and his quest to become a successful Onmyouji(priest) with the aid of Guren(one of the twelve Shinsou). Set in the Heian era, this anime brings you on a journey from Masahiro being a novice with his ability to see the supernatural sealed away to being able to control and use his spiritual powers to defeat demons and so on. If that sounds like your cup of tea, then certainly watch this anime if you haven't! This anime is dark, cynical, twisted in some sense and humorous all at the same time. The second season introduces a new pair of butler and Young Master.although in the beginning, I was confused as to what was happening but slowly the plot becomes clearer. There are 2 seasons of the anime available now. In the first season, Ciel and Sebastian solves some supernatural occurings in London, finds out the culprit behind what happened to Ciel in the past and the highlight of it is whether Ciel would get his revenge and, if so, would Sebastian finally get to devour Ciel's soul. Of course, they seem to be just teasing me with these scenes and it never quite gets to yaoi(but it's just too too suggestive!). Now I absolutely love the idea of Demon/ButlerXYoung Master.my yaoi bunnies were running wild especially with each scene of Sebastian buttoning up his Young Master's shirt or doing his shoelaces or Ciel protectively enclosed in Sebastian's arms.
In exchange for Ciel's soul, the demon, in the form of the butler Sebastian, would serve and help him exact his revenge. The story revolves around Ciel Phantomhive who made a contract with a demon so that his wish for vengeance against those who killed his parents and humiliated him wll be fulfilled. So if you like fantasy-style supernatural genres set in historic times with plenty of space for a yaoi-obsessed mind(like mine) to run amok, here are 2 titles I recommend. So I find myself drawn to other anime that is not strictly yaoi(but with great potential, haha)~ So yeah.I really do love yaoi titles but a lot of them are too lovey-dovey for me and it gets a bit tedious when the plot revolves around nothing but romance.
